Week 3 of Unrivaled has concluded, and there has been a shake-up in the standings. A surprise comeback from a certain club has moved them up to second in the official Unrivaled standings.
Meanwhile, a favorite to win it all is slipping.
Monday was also the last game before Unrivaled games will be played in Philadelphia.
Risers
Mist BC
Last week Mist BC was on the fallers list, however this week they went 2-0 and climbed up to second place in the official Unrivaled standings. Starting off with a crushing win against Rose BC, where the guards dominated. Allisha Gray and Arike Ogunbowale combined for a total of 49 points, with both shooting at least 50 percent from the field. The Mist were able to slow down Chelsea Gray, who had an uncharacteristic bad shooting game. The Mist completely outplayed the Rose, showing their competitiveness.
In the win against Vinyl BC, Breanna Stewart, Gray and Ogunbowale all powered through to keep the comeback from happening. Once again the Mist shot better than their opponent, however, it was a close game due to committing more turnovers. Compared to last week, the Mist improved greatly, and in a much needed time. If the club can continue to play as well as it did against the Rose, it is primed to make the playoffs.

Laces BC
No surprise here for Laces BC. The club continues to dominate, going 2-0 in Week 3. In the past two games, everybody has stepped up. Against Hive BC, Naz Hillmon and Maddy Siegrist came through off the bench. Both having 16 points, with Hillmon recording a double-double. The Laces completely destroyed the Hive in terms of rebounding, recording 43 boards compared to the Hive’s 19. Even though the Laces recorded more turnovers, they dominated in their shot percentage and taking efficient shots.
In the win against the Breeze, everybody was able to contribute in their own way. The biggest turning point of the game was Brittney Sykes’ 3-pointer with a second left in the first half. After the momentous shot the Laces never trailed. The Laces are the best team in Unrivaled right now and are continuing to be better week after week.
Breeze BC
After a tough week last week, the Breeze are back on the risers list. After defeating the Lunar Owls, the Breeze went toe to toe with the Laces. However, after Cameron Brink’s two point shot to make the score 69-67, that would be the last time anybody on the Breeze would score. This was a great test for the Breeze, and in the end, the stats were almost identical but turnovers were the vital factor in determining the outcome.
The Breeze have had impressive performances from everybody, but the standout player has been Dominique Malonga. There is no surprise there, as Noelle Quinn has utilized her by playing towards her strengths. The Breeze may not be up to par with the top two teams just yet, but they are certainly getting there. It won’t be long until the Breeze are contending for a playoff spot.

Phantom BC
Phantom BC turned heads in Week 3, going 1-1 and climbing steadily in the standings. It is currently tied with the Rose and Breeze for third place. The team kicked things off by dismantling Vinyl BC, 78–69. The Phantom had a balanced scoring attack that led to their win. With Aliyah Boston dropping 21 points on efficient shooting, Kelsey Plum added 18, and Kiki Iriafen chipped in 15 with strong energy on the boards. Boston’s presence inside set the tone, and the Phantom defense held Vinyl’s stars in check down the stretch.
Following the win, the Phantom would go on to lose to Rose BC, however there was production from nearly everyone that kept them in pace with the Rose. To put it simply, the Rose just played better in a close game. It was a hard fought loss, but if the Phantom continues to surge like this, it’s going to be tough for other teams to compete.
Fallers
Rose BC
The defending champions are slipping, and it’s happening fast. A major loss to the Mist forced them to drop to third in the official Unrivaled standings. While the club showed flashes of their championship traits, they were unable to maintain momentum throughout. Against Phantom BC, Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper were dominant in an 84–74 win. With Gray’s playmaking and Copper’s scoring kept the defending champs in control.
However, Rose’s offense went cold in their matchup against Mist BC, falling 89–71. Mist’s guards, including Allisha Gray and Arike Ogunbowale, combined for big nights. While Rose BC struggled to find consistent floor spacing and rhythm. Despite the split, the Rose still project as a threat, they’ll just need more consistent offensive execution if they want to reclaim their top spot.
Vinyl BC
Once again Vinyl BC are on the fallers list. This time the club managed to go 0-2, and are on a three-game losing streak. The Vinyl need to start winning games in order to catch up, but also not fall behind clubs like Hive and Lunar Owls BC. The Vinyl are now tied with the Hive, record wise, and if things don’t change, the team is at risk of missing the playoffs completely.
Against Phantom BC, the Vinyl were coming back and made it a one point game in the third quarter, but couldn’t capitalize. The club only had five turnovers the entire game, but two in the second half played a vital role. There is a ton of talent on the roster, with Dearica Hamby, Rhyne Howard, and Brittney Griner playing major roles in the game against the Phantom.
In the matchup with Mist BC, once again it was a close game with the Vinyl pulling slightly ahead by two points. However, the Mist took control after a clear path foul was called on Erica Wheeler. Wheeler played a major role in keeping the game close, however, once again Vinyl BC couldn’t finish the game strong. This has been a pattern for nearly every Vinyl loss, they get the score close enough, but then their opponent pulls away. The Vinyl absolutely need to finish games strong in order to win.
Hive BC
Hive BC finished Week 3 with a 1–1 record that showcased both their grit and areas for improvement. The Hive battled but fell, 70–52, to Laces BC. Hive BC struggled to keep pace with Laces’ rebounding dominance and efficient offense. Naz Hillmon and Maddy Siegrist led the Laces attack, while the Hive’s scoring balance just wasn’t enough to stay within striking distance. The effort was there, but with how dominant the Laces have been playing, it’s not all surprising that they got the edge on Hive BC early on.
Hive bounced back with a major victory against the Lunar Owls though. A tight 74–73 victory in a contested matchup. Kelsey Mitchell hit the game-winning layup after a bad pass from Aaliyah Edwards. The team’s defensive resilience in the final minute proved decisive. The win showed Hive’s potential when they execute on both ends, but the inconsistency in execution remains a storyline heading into Philadelphia.
Lunar Owls BC
Lunar Owls BC were unable to find a win in Week 3, finishing 0–2 and dropping further down the standings. Against Breeze BC, they fell. 75–68, even though Aaliyah Edwards put up a big scoring night with 23 points. Edwards and Marina Mabrey kept the Lunar Owls in it, but they couldn’t overcome the balanced attack from Breeze’s backcourt. This matchup was more on the sloppy side, with the turnovers and uneven shooting. However, the Lunar Owls can’t keep having multiple players end the night with five points or less. This team is being heavily carried by Edwards, Mabrey, and Skylar Diggins.
Then against Hive BC, the Lunar Owls lost another close one, 74–71. It was another gritty performance, Edwards and Diggins led the scoring, but the Lunar Owls couldn’t put together enough stops down the stretch. This time the turnovers were low, however, the last turnover of the game was the deciding factor with Kelsey Mitchell stealing the ball that led to the game winner. This club has shown they can hang with quality competition, but until they start closing out tight games, climbing the standings will remain a challenge.
