Caitlin Clark Joins NBC Sports as Special Contributor for NBA Broadcasts

NBC Sports announced Tuesday that Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark will serve as a special contributor for the debut of Basketball Night in America, an on-site studio program launching Feb. 1 from Madison Square Garden.

Clark will be part of the pregame coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET ahead of the inaugural Sunday Night Basketball matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks at 7 p.m. ET on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo. The night will conclude with a second game featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Denver Nuggets at 9:30 p.m. ET.

As a special contributor, Clark will join host Maria Taylor alongside analysts and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famers Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady for pregame commentary during Basketball Night in America.

“I’m really excited to be part of the Basketball Night in America crew this season,” Clark said. “Carmelo, Vince, and Tracy are legends of the game and Maria is a true professional. It will be really fun to join them a few times this season.”

NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood said Clark’s presence adds another layer to the network’s launch of its new NBA broadcast package.

“Caitlin is one of the most captivating players and dynamic scorers in basketball,” Flood said. “We’re excited to have Caitlin join Hall of Famers Melo, Vince, Tracy and Reggie in New York for the launch of Sunday Night Basketball.”

WNBA Superstar to Appear On-Site for Knicks, Lakers and Thunder Matchups

Clark will return in the same role on Sunday, March 29, when Basketball Night in America originates from Paycom Center in Oklahoma City ahead of the Thunder hosting the Knicks at 7:30 p.m. ET.

A two-time WNBA All-Star, Clark had a historic rookie season with the Indiana Fever. She was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, earned All-WNBA First Team honors, led the league in assists and was named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.

Before entering the professional ranks, Clark authored one of the most decorated collegiate careers in women’s basketball history at the University of Iowa. The West Des Moines, Iowa native finished as the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history with 3,951 points and won back-to-back Naismith and AP College Player of the Year awards in 2023 and 2024. She was also a three-time unanimous First Team All-American.

NBC Sports’ Sunday Night Basketball will run across NBC, Peacock and Telemundo beginning Feb. 1 and continue through April 5, featuring 11 total games, including three doubleheaders.

Coverage will pause on Feb. 8 and Feb. 15 due to NBC Sports’ commitments to Super Bowl LX, the NBA All-Star Game and the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Each week, the one-hour Basketball Night in America studio show will lead directly into game coverage.
