NFL Fantasy Football Week 16 2025 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em: Quarterback

NFL Week 16 is already here and that means the Fantasy Football season is well into the playoffs. As fantasy managers may be content with their final lineups to this point, anything can happen in football and situations are always changing. One of the most matchup-dependent slots is the Quarterback position, more important now than ever as teams make their final push for the NFL Playoffs.

The most notable development at the position came with Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes tearing his ACL. Washington Commanders’ franchise QB Jayden Daniels has been shut down for the season, along with Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray not returning, making for a very volatile Fantasy Football landscape to end the year and usher in the playoffs.

Aside from top options like Eagles’ Jalen Hurts or Bills’ Josh Allen, we’ll be taking a look at which quarterbacks should see a start and which we’re leaving on our bench in Week 16.

This Week’s Top-5 QB Starts:

Jalen Hurts, PHI (@WAS)
Josh Allen, BUF (@CLE)
Drake Maye, NE (@BAL)
Dak Prescott, DAL (vs. LAC)
Joe Burrow, CIN (@MIA)

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (@DAL)

Chargers’ Justin Herbert lands just outside the top-10 QB rankings this week, but his play has resulted in three-straight wins for his team as their top-ranked defense has been giving them opportunities to posses the football. Drawing the Cowboys this week, they’ll draw the team averaging the most fantasy points (27.9) to opposing quarterbacks on a weekly basis. Given the difference in level between these two defenses, the Chargers could be the ones in control when it comes to their offense.

I see Herbert as a top-10 start this week as their offense is looking dynamic once again with rookie RB Omarion Hampton returning from injury. His presence will open up the running game, in turn giving Herbert looks downfield. The Chargers are also second in the AFC West and chasing the Denver Broncos, so expect Herbert to turn things up as he fights for his team’s playoff chances.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (@CHI)

The injury news to Packers’ star DE Micah Parsons and his ACL has sent shockwaves through the organization, especially with the Green Bay faithful. With the defense searching for their identity once again, the weight on QB Jordan Love’s shoulder will be even greater as he’ll have to elevate this team to new heights without their game-wrecker on defense. Luckily, Love will see the Chicago Bears once again who he carved up for 234 passing yards and three touchdowns just two weeks ago.

In five games against Chicago as the starter, Jordan Love has a passer rating of 121.0 with 1,125 total passing yards, nine touchdowns, and only two interceptions. He owns a 4-1 record over the Bears in those games and given the current situation of his team, he’ll need to step up in a big way if they want to win the AFC North. He posted a formidable 19.26 points against the Bears in Week 14 – expect him to break the 20.0-point mark as he lets it fly in this one.

Jaxson Dart, New York Giants (vs. MIN)

Dart has been very responsive in slowing down the game for himself and limiting mistakes in throwing the football, but his lone interception last week overshadowed an otherwise solid fantasy performance. He draws the Minnesota Vikings’ defense who, on average, allow the third-fewest fantasy points (14.5) to quarterbacks each week. With a fellow first-year starter in JJ McCarthy on the opposite side, we could see a sloppy game out of both offenses as the defenses have been the focal point of each team all year.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (@SEA)

Ranked as the No. 3 overall QB in total fantasy points this season, it’s hard to fade Matthew Stafford and the Rams at any point this season. However, he loses his most reliable weapon and the NFL’s leader in receiving touchdowns with WR Davante Adams (hamstring) going down in Week 15. His absence will be a massive adjustment and defenses are bound to key-in on WR Puka Nacua with a much closer eye with the threat of Adams on the other side.

Furthermore, Matthew Stafford’s 13.2 fantasy points against the Seahawks in Week 11 was his third lowest-scoring game of the season. Given their top-ranked defense playing at its highest level of the season thus far, this could be a sour matchup for the Los Angeles Rams as they’re dealing with a number of hurdles at the moment.
