Gauff Defeats Paolini at WTA Finals

Reigning French Open champion Coco Gauff secured her first victory at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, defeating two-time Slam finalist Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2. 

Losing to compatriot Jessica Pegula on Sunday, Gauff will now how to defeat world No. 1 and top seed Aryna Sabalenka on Thursday in order to reach the semifinal stage of the event.

Sabalenka will take to the court later today against Pegula.

On Wednesday. No. 6 seed Elena Rybakina will take a 2-0 record against No. 7 seed Madison Keys, and No. 2 seed Iga Swiatek will face Wimbledon and US Open finalist No. 4 seed Amanda Anisimova.

Both Swiatek and Anisimova are 1-1 in the Group Stages, while Keys is 0-2. Keys won the Australian Open earlier this year for her maiden Grand Slam victory.

Djokovic Returns to Action in Athens

Former world No. 1 and 24-time Major winner Novak Djokovic returns to action later today in Athens, Greece, facing Alejandro Tabilo from Chile.

Never defeating Tabilo in two previous meetings, Djokovic will be in search of his 101 singles title this week. The 38-year-old recently moved to Athens with his family.

Other results on the day saw Yannick Hanfmann defeat Ivan Ivanov in straight sets.

No. 6 seed Nuno Borges and American Sebastian Korda will also be in action later today.
