The Washington Commanders had some brutal injuries against the Seattle Seahawks, with one of them being to Jayden Daniels, who had just returned from injury. Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow in the fourth quarter when the game was already pretty much decided, and many called out head coach Dan Quinn to keep him in the game.
Quinn recently took accountability for keeping Daniels in the game, noting that he takes all the blame for the situation, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.
“I get that. I’ve been thinking about it nonstop too and, man, I missed it. … That is 100% on me,” Quinn said.
There is now a chance that Daniels could be out for the remainder of the season. Quinn also went into depth about his thought process on why he still had Daniels and some of the starters still in the game at that point.
“It was probably like 12 1/2 minutes left in the game, and that was gonna be the last drive for a couple of guys, Jayden, Zach, Deebo, and LT, and so we were going to have read-run plays, meaning no carries for the quarterback on a run, and honestly, that’s where I missed it. Of course, he could scramble; that’s what he’s special at, and that is 100% on me,” Quinn said.

It may have been a good idea for the starters not to even be on the field when the fourth quarter started, but Quinn understands that and will learn from his mistakes. For now, the main thing is focusing on Daniels’ health and figuring out when he will be able to return.
With how the Commanders’ season has been going, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the team decided to shut him down for the rest of the year, and just let him heal up for next season.
