Auger-Aliassime Defeats Vacherot to Reach Paris Masters Semifinals

Friday’s ATP Tour results from Rolex Paris Masters in France saw inform Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime storm in the semifinals of the event, defeating Valentin Vacherot from Monaco 6-2, 6-2. 

Keeping his bid alive of reaching the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, Auger-Aliassime needed one hour and 18 minutes to advance. 

The No. 9 seed will next face the winner of No. 6 seed Alex de Minuar or No. 13 seed Alexander Bublik. De Minaur qualified for the ATP Finals yesterday with his victory over No. 10 seed Karen Khachanov. 

Bublik is still in the running to secure a spot in Turin, Italy, but will likely have to win the event. 

Still to come on Friday, top seed Jannik Sinner will face No. 5 seed Ben Shelton, and No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev will face No. 11 seed Daniil Medvedev for the 22nd time.

Medvedev leads Zverev 14-7 in career matches and has won the last five encounters. 

Zverev has also secured a place in the ATP Finals for the eighth time in his career. Zverev is the defending champion in this week in Paris, and Medvedev won the title in previous Bercy Indoor venue in 2020. 

The tournament is now held at the all-new Paris La Défense Arena in France.
