Auger-Aliassime, Vacherot and Diallo Reach Paris Masters Second Round
Tuesday’s ATP Tour results from Rolex Paris Masters in France saw No. 9 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime keep his hopes alive of reaching the ATP Finals in Turin, defeating Francisco Comesana from Argentina 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-3.
Auger-Aliassime will next face Alexandre Muller from France. Muller defeated Brandon Nakashima from the United States 6-2, 7-5 on Monday.
Other winners on Tuesday included Shanghai Masters winner Valentin Vacherot and Canadian Gabriel Diallo.
Vacherot will play his cousin Arthur Rinderknech in the second round on Wednesday in a rematch of the Shanghai Masters final.
Camilo Ugo Carabelli was also a first-round winner on Tuesday. The 26-year-old defeated fellow Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-5, 6-3.
Matches that are still to come today will feature top seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on Cameron Norrie, No. 4 seed Taylor Fritz going up against Aleksander Vukic, and recent Basel Open winner Joao Fonseca facing Denis Shapovalov.
On Wednesday, No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner plays his first match of the event against Zizou Bergs of Belgium, and No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev will take on Ugo Carabelli.
No. 5 seed Ben Shelton will also be in action against Flavio Cobolli from Italy.
