Marc Marquez is to miss the rest of the 2025 MotoGP season, and will not take part in the Valencia test on the Tuesday after the final round of 2025. Although the damage to his shoulder blade and associated ligaments are healing well, he needs to spend at four weeks with his arm immobilized before he can start his physical rehab, and the associated loss of muscle and strength means that he will not be fit enough to ride for the rest of the season, and he has nothing to gain from riding at the Valencia test.
Marquez’ absence means that he will be entitled to an extra day of testing before MotoGP resumes in 2026, under the rule made after Jorge Martin’s extended absence earlier this year. The most likely date for that will be at the shakedown test at Sepang, before the official IRTA test there. By that time, Marquez should be fully fit, and will have a chance to test the bike prepared for the 2026 season by Ducati.
