Day 2 of track action got underway in wet conditions and although rain had stopped before the lightweight class joined the track, the surface never got dry enough to ditch the rain tyres. In the tricky low-stakes conditions, Angel Piqueras stole the limelight as he led quite decisively throughout the session, finishing nearly a second and a half ahead of the closest challenger. That proved to be Brian Uriarte, the world champion’s replacement still finding a way to get some airtime at turn 8 to feed the highlights reel despite the conditions.
