After the morning’s sensational race, the championship was decided in the last race of the year, the first time since 2014 the championship was decided at the last race. Jonathan Rea would miss out on his last race after his crash this morning rules him out due to a right knee sprain and contusion. Nicolo Bulega waited as long as possible before heading out to line up on the grid. Three Ducatis line up on the front row with Toprak Razgatlioglu starting in tenth place.
